COMMON QUESTIONS
Helpful Information about the Denver Metro Emergency Food Network
WHAT IS THE DENVER METRO EMERGENCY FOOD NETWORK?
Denver Metro Emergency Food Network (DMEFN) was launched in March 2020 to meet the emergency food needs of thousands of families, elderly, and individuals who have reduced food security and access to food due to the risk of COVID-19. DMEFN provide safe, free, prepared meals delivered to those in need.
HOW ARE THESE EMERGENCY MEALS FUNDED?
Currently meals are funded by donations online through our website and contributions from local foundations and government agencies.
WHO RECEIVES THESE EMERGENCY MEALS?
Any individuals and families in need can sign up for meals via our online form, linked on the Home Page of our website.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN AN EMERGENCY MEAL?
Each DMEFN meal box contains four fully-prepared meals. Meal boxes can be ordered for an individual or a family (up to 4 boxes = 16 meals). There are standard and vegetarian options available.
WHERE DO YOU DELIVER MEALS?
We are currently delivering meals in the Denver Metro Area, within a 15 mile radius of Capitol Hill. We are not able to deliver beyond that range at this time. We recommend calling Colorado's resource line at 2-1-1 if you need help outside of Denver Metro.
WHEN WILL MY MEAL ARRIVE?
Please join our waitlist to sign up for future meal delivery. It typically takes between 2-3 days from the time you request a meal to your first meal delivery. We will reach out as soon as we are able to deliver your meals. We deliver every day, 1pm to 8pm.
WHO SUPPORTS THIS WORK?
DMEFN is supported by five core organizations
-
Focus Points Family Resource Center and Denver Food Rescue (community partners)
-
Bondadosa (tech and delivery partner)
-
Lost City (food preparation partner)
-

We are also fortunate to have an amazing network of supporting organizations donating food, volunteering time, and connecting us with community needs. If your organization is interested in getting involved please email impact@lostcity.com.

The Colorado Emergency Food Network is a registered non-profit with the state of Colorado. Denver Food Rescue serves as our 501c3 fiscal sponsor. All contributions are fully tax-deductible. If you have additional questions about donations please email impact@lostcitydenver.com.
